Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone might be able to answer a question for me.
About a week ago I had a car on my bed who was parked in a private parking area without a sticker. The owner comes out and says he would pay now, that he just has to run to the bank. The bank being about 10 minutes away, I give him his car and follow him to the bank. He goes in, and 5 minutes later comes out. Now keep in mind I'm sitting in my truck. He goes to hand me half the money and says he has the rest in his car. He gets in his car and takes off. I followed him for a few minutes but he got on the highway and took off. I'm glad I got at least half the fee, but is there anything I can do to get the other half from this guy?? Any help would be appreciated as this is not the first time I've dealt with these types of people. Thanks. Also, I'm located in New Hampshire if that helps
also i think i have the guys plate number but it might not be right. In the future I'm not going to give people chances like this but I'm wondering if theres anything I can do to get my lost money
That's called "theft of services" and the police will arrest them for it. It no different than eating at a restaurant and running out. call the police!
NEVER drop the car without first getting paid! By takeing half and the car dropped it will become his word vs your word.if the fees dont get paid at time of service than impound car untill payment plus impound fees and storage.
NEVER DROP THE CAR UNTILL PAID!
