I'm in Idaho and our junk vehicle limit is $200. That's seems terribly low to me. What's y'alls at?
What do you mean by junk vehicle limit?  :)
he is most likely talking about the value of the vehicle.  Some areas have different lein processes for vehicles based on values of vehicles.

A ferrari is worth more junked than a 72 Vega wagon...

I think it means that the police can certify it as a "junk" car and you can just scrap it without spending all the time and money to do a lien then auction a useless car.

I believe the limits here involve how old the car is, and if it's inoperable (missing glass, wheels or engine). I have it printed somewhere, I don't generally impound so I don't know it by heart.

I did get lucky on one junker, I had to go look at the car to get the mileage for the title lien paperwork and discovered the title sitting in the car. The title had been signed over, but never transferred so there was no real legal owner. The good tires came off and the hulk "disappeared".

Yes we have to go through a lein process on any abandoned vehicles that we pick up that are valued over 200. How do your states handle abandons?
