I've got some friends who are having problems with security trying to run them off while servicing a customer in parking lots,and my question is what can they do about it?and what would be solutions to this problem?they run aaa,and several motor clubs in their city where they have reputable towing company,and i too have had this problem when towing from parking lots!when i was running tows!any feedback? :help:

Well bob why in the world would serurity bother you if you had a customer with you and you were there to do a scheduled tow i myself have never been chased off by any rent a cop and most of the time they are just curious as to whats going on. that is the job they are paid to do. maybe someone is up to no good and thats why they get chased off :devil:

I have had a few problems with the rent-a-cops at the GM transmission plant near me. They always come out and ask if I am doing a repo. When I go to pick the vehicles up, they are for shop tows and I have the keys. We don't do repos. And even if we did, do they really think I would tell them??? :sofunny:

If I was there to do a repo, they would never see me till I was hooked and bookin' :rasp:

Now those type of problems we all come across but if some rent a cop would drar his weapon on me i would flip out on him and have him locked up. rent a cops are not law enforcement officers they do not have the rights to pull a weapon out on you unless you have a weapon of you own which is visible to them.now bob you must come across the big old tuff tony type security guards. no shopping centers want that kind of a problem at their front doors and once it was brought to their attention they would be out of there in a heart beat.maybe you should call 6the department stores and let them you know you wont shop there until they have switched security companies.

Just an update they now have agreement with wal-mart,and store management notified security!

I work armed security and not all of us are like that and since I also have my own tow truck I have no problem with any towing companies coming in on property. But some strict properties don't allow anyone to work on vehicles on there property and I have been told I couldn't work on my vehicles at a few. Once because I threatened them while putting a starter in my car on the property they called the Police and had me cited. It all depends on the property owners. :headbang:

Lol thats funny stuff they do that here now at the local auto parts stores here such as autozone and pep boys when they see people doing repairs . they say it is because of their insurance and i do believe them :talktohand:

I had to laugh, I saw a guy outside of Autozone trying to remove the pitman arm on a Ford truck so he could change the pitman shaft seal. In the parking lot.

The last time I had one of those seals go out, I just changed out the gear box with one out of a junker. It was easier.
