I have a dilemma and I am hoping someone can give me some good advice. I recently have started doing the towing for a Ford dealership here in town. I am tired of letting all the warranty tows go to USAC providers. Called USAC and tried to set up an account and was told that I could only get 35 a hook up. I dumped all my roadside business a long time ago for this very reason. Is there any way that I can get a rate close to my rate for my customer pay tows?? When I called my rep he basically told me that MC tows are filler work, and are not to be for profit. I explained that this is my dealer account that I got on my own I was only interested in doing the tows that were warranty that came through the dealer. He still did not budge. There are a lot of warranty tows that I am passing on but I refuse to do them at MC rates. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how do I go about solving it?? Thanks
cant say i have, only done one...they looked up my company and sent us to tow a mustang. driver wrote it up full rates, with dollies even, car was lowered. hope they pay!! i got a p.o. number ofcourse, but their bill is 75$ hook up, 35$ dollies and 4 miles at $5 each. now im wondering what theyre gonna pay if theyre that cheap.
I have had problem for years with USAC!! I had their "introductry rates". after I realized that they are nothing but pure JERKS and A** holes, I told my rep at the time that any call that I got from them, the customer has to pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement. He told me to go get fried and hung up the phone on me. They still called! And low and behold......I had customers pay me up front! Then I found out that a vendor rep that had worked for quest & Road America who I ALWAYS and ONLY delt with started to work for USAC! I was thrilled. I called him and now i'm set up with great rates. He actually over sees all the reps from what I understand. I just a few days, I'll be back on with rates that make a profit.
But.......DON'T expect anything from any of the other reps. They love to hire the guy who just bought his first truck that looks like my first accident vehicle! GO straight to the top to negoiate your rates.
they changed vendor reps and now a rep that has set up two other motorclubs for me is with USAC. I was promissed not to disclose my rates, but with the enroute, it's very close to my cash rates. I suggest that if you having problems call the reps. With them being new now like in the past month, things are getting done!
