anybody got a strong old dinosaur wrecker laying around behind the garage?
im not a professinal tower,but i have a trucking company
and i buy and sell alot of trucks
and im tired of giving the locals 500 bucks everytime i need something moved
looking for something heavy with maybe an old holmes 750 mechanical back
autocar,diamond reo-diamond-t kenworth international etc
preferably with an old cummins

thats a great ford,but a little too small and way too nice for me
but i got a line on a kenworth in new hampshire with a 750 holmes,long wheelbase single axle,asking price is 5 grand
im going to look at it this weekend if i can get away

Perhaps a "fifth wheeler" is what you need. If you don't do any recovery work, a boomed unit is just added weight and maintenance.
You may even have a old tractor sitting around to mount it on...
i think we have a quick swap for sale (fifth wheeler). the old man's got a 74 KW tandem with a 750 too but i think he will hang on to that til the grave, it's his baby. there is an '81 Western Star he may wanna get rid of though. it'll pack a tractor.
