Here we have a 1994 Ford E-350 with the International 7.3L IDI engine. I've kept this as a backup vehicle since going to a larger service truck, and have decided I don't need it as a backup anymore. This is a good starter truck or a economical replacement for a wrecker for service calls. I logged the mileage for 3 months last year, it got 15.41 MPG on average in mostly city driving.

Fist off, powertrain. The engine is the mechanically injected 7.3L IDI. There are NO sensors to go bad and kill the engine, and no $200 apiece fuel injectors. If the engine doesn't run, you probably ran it out of fuel. Very trouble free and easy /  cheap to repair. Engine had @275K miles and has very good power (for a non-turbo diesel). Fuel injectors were replaced last year, vacuum pump this year. There is SLIGHT leakage at a couple of the fuel return caps.

Trans is Fords' heavy duty E4OD automatic. The trans and torque converter were replaced last year with a Ford remanufactured unit costing $2000. I have also added a device which lets you boost the transmission line pressure to firm shifts during towing etc.

Rear axle. Well here's the bugger. The tone ring (the doo-dad that tells the speed sensor how fast the axle is turning) broke last year. To get the truck back on the road quickly, I bolted in a semi-floater axle from an E-250. The original axle will be included with the truck and still needs repaired.

Warning equipment - new lights were installed spring 2005. Front has a FS Jetstream, rear has a Arrow-Stik. There is also a variable output backup alarm that matches its output to the ambient sound level.

Service equipment - 25' Quick connect 4 awg jumper cables, 3 large filing cabinets inside to hold tools. There is a custom (by me) 12 volt air compressor, the motor needs to be taken apart and cleaned up for it to work again. No other tools in the pictures are included with the sale of the truck.

For towing, the truck has a Ford receiver hitch rated at 5K / 10K. I have also wired in a connector that accepts both RV and 4-flat trailer connectors.

Truck lettering is vinyl, I will be removing my company name and phone  number, the rest is the buyers' responsibility.

Truck frame is solid, the body is starting to see the results of living in the rustbelt. The rear quarters have had some rustout repaired, and the rear bumper is pretty rusty (I just keep painting over the rust!;).

More pics are available via email.
Asking $5,500 OBO, will entertain trades up / down for an older tow truck with a hydraulic wheel lift. 440-653-6165 or Nextel 136*7028*1 Jason

Vehicle is located in N Ridgeville, OH just west of Cleveland.

I did get this in exchange. The other guy got the better end of the deal. This thing had no rear brakes, and the interior is pretty thrashed. Plus a broken windshield and only one mirror out of 3. Oh, and no muffler. God knows how long the guy had been driving it like that.

It took me about 3 hours' drive to meet the guy, and I looked at the truck and said "Holy crap". But a deal is a deal.

There was some cash in this deal right?not a bad looking truck! :thumb:  :drivin:  :thumb:  :drivin:
It was a straight up trade, however I stripped off most of my service equipment. The only thing I left was the light bar.

Had I known the condition of the truck I would have taken off my stainless wheel simulators and my power inverter.

I have most of the mechanicals fixed and I hope to have it on the road working next week.

BTW, the truck is older than it looks. It's an 85 with a 90's front clip.

I like it!it's not bad it'll do the job! :drivin:  :drivin:  :drivin:  :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:
