I have a feeling I know who you worked for. I was dumb enough to work for them as well. The Non-Compete clause you signed through them is purely a scare tactic. Oregon is a right to work state, and the clause is non-binding in court when applied to drivers..I left that company in November, and I haven't heard a thing since.

The owner of that prior co. tried to tell me I wasn't allowed to even own my own co. for a year. That was a load of crap.

I agree. They scope of a non-compete agreement does not cover an employee that simply goes to another company unless that employee has learned trade secrets that will give the new employer an advantage in the market.

Typically, a non-compete agreement is to prevent you from using skills learned at one company to then start another company to compete against them.

In theory, it's would not be enforceable against you.

The only trade secret I can think of for that company is that the owner also owns two other companies, and gets 3 times the police rotations over everyone else.

Meaning, if you worked for one co. and were clear on calls....If a cop call came in for one of the other two, you would just park your truck at the lot, and hop in that ''other'' co.'s truck and go.

Most  :veryangry:  up business practice I've ever seen. And the owner charges three different amounts. :suspect:

:sofunny: The Post about different Towing Co.`s brings back a Memory...

Where I was in So Cal One Owner tried to branch out to an adjacent Cities P.D. Contract. He somehow got it but couldn`t use the same Name. Presto!! Magnetic Signs and different Uniform Shirts and Paperwork.
