I'm interested in possibly reentering the repo industry but on a different level this time around. I worked as a accounts adjuster for a regional bank in West Virginia back in the 80's repoing cars & mobile homes for like $6.25 an hour. This time around I want to own the repo company.

I live in Virginia and was curious what the average repo rate/income potential was for this area as well as the related cost of starting a small operation.

I've read some where here in this forum where it was said the cost is cheaper for a "towing" company that does repo's insurance wise.....any thoughts or ideas?  All are greatly appreciated. :thumb:

What are the advantages as well as disadvantages of a certified Asset Recovery Specailist. In your opinion does the certifacation help in geting work from the larger lending istitutions?
Curious how many ITOW members are located on the east coast. I was hoping to get some insight to the rates here on the east coast. Any takers?

:D

Hi Seeker, welcome to ITOW Talk!

I wish could add some insight but we do very little repo work, and I'm not real familiar with the inner workings of a "repo only" company.

Perhaps one of the repo guys her at the board will have some comments. :)

I can see where your site here can benifit the towing/recovery/repo field by having a place where like minded folk can gather to exchange information and thier experiences and ideas. :thumb:
