Hello,

My name is Jon I am 20 years old and have been driving tow trucks since I was 16 (For my self) 18 Is when I started driving for Hire.

My truck is a 1987 Ford F-350 Custom that my father bought from AmeriGas in '99 and gave to me 3 years ago.  It used to be an old AmeriGas Propane Utility truck and my father and I completely redone the truck.  We removed the propane setup on the 460 and converted back to gas, extended the frame by 4ft and put a 17ft home made roll back body on it made of steel.

A little history.  My father used to be in the Scrap Metal & Towing business until an accident that happened in 2000 which has prevented him from driving any truck today.  He was in the business for over 30 years, and I remember tagging along with him when I was a little kid to go and get vehicles, scrap or what ever needed to be moved or hauled away.  He had a small fleet of trucks ready to go and he taught me how to safely operate all of them.  One of my favorite trucks when I was a kid was a late 1970's Ford L-9000 10 Wheeler with a 28 Ft Chevron Roll back body.  That was customized as well extending the frame on that truck by 3-4 feet.  We also had a 1979 Ford F350 with a Wrecker Body on it.  And many more trucks.

I currently have my Tow Truck Endorsement through the State of New York with my NON-CDL Class C,  soon to be a CDL Class B if not A.  But I can not get my A until next year when I turn 21.  As I said earlier I have been doing the quite a while and I am still learning about towing and recovery every day.  I am looking at in the future getting at second truck as when we moved we lost all the trucks except for the 87 I currently own.  And even though I was promised and given the title for the 70's Ford L-9000 it was "stolen" but I believe that it was traded for a machine it sets me back as that body on that truck cost my father over $10,000 back in the 70's and it was still in good shape.  As all I wanted from that truck was the roll back body off of it.

But that is enough for now.

So Hello and So far this place looks to be real friendly and nice.
