:veryangry:
Late Saturday evening, I parked my car at a church I attend in Boston. I figured they may tow it if they see no activities going on in the building - so I parked it at an angle to make it difficult for towing (just to be safe), but it was still towed anyways.
The problem is - it was damaged in the process, and they wasted no time in denying - since it could be difficult to prove. How can I get the towing company to pay for the damages - if thats possible.
Thanks

Sounds like you need to file a report with boston p.d. and file a claim with small claims court.
So let me get this straight.... You decided to park somewhere you knew you shouldn't of, then you parked at an angle to make it more difficult to tow away and now that the towing company has damaged your car while removing it from private property, your pissed? Dude, if your looking for pity your in the wrong place.

In our state, and I suspect others are similar, towing companies are not responsible for reasonable damage done to unauthorized vehicles removed from private property. The keyword is reasonable. If your car was parked in a fashion that made it difficult to tow, the damage was almost surely reasonable.

I think its pretty funny that people know in advance that their car is going to be towed, and whine about it. Don't be stupid if its somewhere you need to be have a permit.
 ouch !  :boo:
First of all, I do not know the Laws in Mass., but here in Washington state, if the area you parked in is posted with Impound signs, they usually state on the sign that "unauthorized or improperly" parked vehicles will be towed 24hrs a day at the owners risk and expense.
Check with the P.D. in that area and see what they tell you about your situation, however here you are at a loss for any legal situation, also you might check about the local laws about impounding.
Sorry, but I think you are "up the creek" without a paddle, at least you would be here.  I have people park all the time where it is posted and we impound for the property owner, we do however try every effort not to cause damage to the vehicle, sometimes it happens-but not intentionally by our company,  but we can't just go around and impound off these lots without a authorized person for that property to request the impound be done????????
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Same goes here,if you know that your car could be towed and you make it more difficult for the operator to tow the vehicle,no matter how it`s parked, it`s getting towed, well tough luck. The tow company shouldn`t be held responsible for one`s diligence!!! :headbang:

I'm not trying to stir up a hornets nest but don't you think that's unprofessional telling this consumer things like "tough luck",and "looking for pity"?what if it were you in this situation,or a relative were not perfect but dang it treat them with respect not indignity maybe it wasn't a respectable towing company that towed it?think about it for a moment.... :oo:  :oo:  :oo:  :oo:
I`m not staring down on anyones dignity, what happened here is a cause and effect practice. The person parked their car in such a way to make it more diificult for the towing operator to tow the vehicle(he/she admits to that),the cause, and when the operator towed the vehicle,he may have had to pull the car straight to hook up,causing unintentional damage, the effect. This can happen to anyone of us towers,I myself would fess up and explain to the customer what happened due to them "parking at an angle to make it harder to be towed".We do not know the whole scenario as to what objects were present near the vehicle(trees, cars, buildings, telephone poles),so maybe the operator had no other choice, and if you don`t tow it someone else will. But on the other hand I`ll give the benefit of the doubt and maybe it was poor judgement on the operators behalf, the owner of the tow company should pay for the damages to the vehicle.
:unclesam: the point i'm trying to get across is that we have consumers that look at this board every day and seeing comments like the ones posted makes them think that we don't give a about our consumers they are our customers out there, and believe me i would rather give good advise rather than bad,we are trying to clean up our image not destroy it the towing industry already has a bad image for some time now and now its time to go on the offensive and clean it up thats my goal is to see that it does get changed for the better i don't know how it is up in canada i guess its the same anywhere you look at it,we have enough under handed companies out there that are trying to bring down the industry, now we need to stand up and take notice and become a unity and start doing something about it,thats the reason for towing associations national or state associations.i'm in the process of getting involved in t.r.a.a. in order of getting the industry changed for the better, and its happening all across the united states and canada by men and women towers who really care about our industry. :unclesam:  :unclesam:  :unclesam:  :unclesam:
