My husband and I are completely frusterated! We live in condominiums in Maryland were they tow after midnight every night! We have all our vehicles registered to our address as require by the condo's we live at. This morning, first thing, my husband headed out to work to find that his registered work van had been towed. After registering our cars, management told us they had not received new stickers, so they gave us temporary permits which hang from the rear-view mirrors. Well, he went up to the front desk and the person working showed him a pic of the mirror with no permit, he said it fell. Well, we feel it is so unfair being that we are residents here and we follow the rules-now a permit fell off and we have to pay who knows how much for a tow
Are they allowed to do this being that our vehicle is registered here and it is not our fault they have not provided permanent stickers and this temporary one fell off? Is there anything we can do to get our money back? Please help us.

Wow, they are hardcore about towing. I would try and contact your city/county Towing Advisory Board. These boards oversee the towing laws and procedures and might be able to help.
On the surface it appearers that they are legal, but your right, a temporary that hangs from from your mirror is bound to be forgotten or lost on a regular basis. Doesn't seem fair and I can't imagine you are the first.
Try contacting the department of code enforcement at codeenf@hyattsville.org or phone them at 301-985-5015 and see if they know who can help you.
Here is a sugestion, take receipt of paid parking permit to the tow company. if it is truely regestered they will have to give you car back without charge they may also maybe charged with auto theft? Best to talk with owner/property manager, attorney. what does lot sign say ex:auto's without sticker will be towed at owner's expense etc. best of luck
