I am the owner of a commercial property in clark county where i operate a small business. yesterday my car was towed from my own property. A neighboring property owner is the authority cited by the tow company. This neighbor states that she did not "have my car towed". The tow company will not let me see the signed authority.
I'm being evicted from my home and must be out by Mon. The vehicle in question was my truck that i needed to move. I don't have the money to get it out of impound.

Hello Rainbowraggs, welcome to ITOW Talk.

Nobody has the authority to impound a vehicle form your own property.

The towing company should of provided you an "Opportunity for Hearing" form when you inquired, in person, about the car. If not, ask them for one.

You can take that form and a small fee down to your county courthouse clerk (city court if your population exceeds 5000) and request a hearing to contest the validity of the impound.

You have 10 days to file for a hearing. If you request a hearing immediately, you should be able to get a hearing before the car goes for auction. After the auction, a hearing will be useless.

If the court determines that the impound was invalid, your car will be released without charge and your court costs will be returned.

Quite frankly, from reading your post, you have no problem.

Good luck.  :thumb:

State law requires that the tow company provide you with  hearing request form and it must show the name and address of the person authorizing the impound.
I am in Clark County and have a hunch who you are dealing with, if you would like some more info you can email me at GBL511@aol.com or call 737-3809 during normal business hours  and ask for Gale. I may not be in but if ya leave a number I'll return your call.

As a point of info for all reading, I have no troubles with any local towers in my county and am only offering help for what I hope is a lack of communication.

I talked to Chris on the phone and the tow company did provide her with the hearing request form that showed the signers name and address but wouldnt show her the actual authorization form. All that is needed now is for her to file in the Clark County District Court.
