I had my car towed through AAA and they sent out a company to tow my car a short distance of 2 miles. My car was pulled up onto the tow bed and the driver locked it down. The driver was following me to the destination but before we left the parking lot he stopped and got out of the truck and motioned for me to come back. He had just put one strap on to hold the back down and the car came loose and when he hit the brakes the front of the car smashed into the bar protecting the truck cab. He told me to get a quote and send it to them. I sent them the quote but 2 weeks later I was told they must have lost it. I sent them another one and eventually got a call back saying OK and they wanted to fix it at their shop along with towing it for free and doing other repairs not associated with the towing damage for my nice patience. When i told them I wanted to have it fixed at a different repair shop they told me they would have to come and do the quote themselves now and decide how much to pay...even though they were willing to do the work based off the quote i gave them. I got advice saying to contact their insurance and get the repair through them but I can not find any information on their insurance company. When they wanted me to fix it at their shop everything was nice and good but when i said i decided to get it fixed elsewhere they are giving me a different attitude. If I find their insurance company can i get the repair through them instead of dealing with the towing company? Any advice?
As far as you getting their insurance to fix your car yes you can because it was their drivers fault for securing the vehicle on the bed!if he worked for me he would collecting unemployment about now! :veryangry: but yes get in touch with their insurance agency to have you car repaired!and i would also get with the aaa who dispatched the truck!hope my advice helps! :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:

Absolutely. Simply file a claim with their insurance company and they should pay for your repairs. Keep in mind that it's YOUR choice who repairs your vehicle.

it sounds like they are trying to get around having their insurance co. notified to keep the premiums from going up. if they wont give you the name of their ins. carrier then i would contact the police dept. and see if they can help in this situation.
They gave me an insurance company name and when i called them I was told they do not cover that towing company...tomorrow I will be calling the police i guess.:(
You know what i think is hey you get what you pay for and even though the driver is at fault for not securing the vehicle down the right way thats the type of service you paid for. if you ask that compamy what amont of money they are being paid to tow your car from the motor club you would see why you do not get top notch service while being towed. now not all towing companies are the same and some are better then others and then some are worse then others. but had you called this company direct and had he not been working for darn near slave labor rates i bet he would have taken more pride and care into towing your vehicle. maybe you would like to send a letter to your motorclub and suggest they pay a little more so their contractors will provide the same service to then as they would a cash customer. sorry to sound like a jerk but i never eel sorry for people when they try o get the  cheapest deal there is out their and then have problems they want full repair rates. you get discounted towing you get discounted repair rates and thats how it should work . have a great day

You are kidding right?
This is by far one of the worst responses I have heard in quite a while.
There is NO excuse what so ever for being careless with someone elses property (car) Not only is it costly but it is also VERY dangerous. What would have happened it if had rolled the other way and came off the truck onto the roadway?

I don't care if you are getting 100.00 for a tow or 5.00, if you decide to do the job that is completely the towers fault.

This fellow does not know a tow truck or it's operations  from step one so he would not know any better with no fault of his own.
It's no different than you or I trying to teach a cop or expecting to know police work. He was sent a tow truck and operator and expected and deserved complete care.
I can't count the number of tow calls I have done just to help someone out and charged zilch, and I always treated the vehicles like they were my own.
So "you get what you pay for" does not cut it with most of the tow companies out there, and I would hope just because you or any other is getting a few dollars less that you would still take your job seriously and provide the care you should be.

And back to his question... contact your insurance company and file the claim as well as follow up with the police. YOU have the right to take your car any place you wish for repairs.
I myself do not tow for AAA for the simple reason they pay like crap and give nothing but headaches. This does not excuse the service you got.

Good luck with your problem.

By the way, we have been in business since 1926 towing vehicles. This makes us one of the oldest tow companies in the country. We did not stay in business this long by telling people "if you pay a little more I will treat your car a little better"
Your ridiculous and so is your logic. i bet your the type of guy that tows car $5 bucks. also it is people who sign up with these companies that keep towers like this in business so again it serves him right because he might not have gotten what he paid for but aaa motor club gave him what they paid for and that is crappy service. you want a quality service you go with quality companies and dont let the name fool you just because a company may have been around for along time doesn't mean they provide a good service. your most likley a owner and thats the same speech you give to your drivers is if you take on this job with little pay you should do a out standing job lmao. i pay well so that my employees will provide a great service not because they want to treat a car like their own (lmao on this one ) but because they like making money and working in quality towing company. so when your treating some hunk of junk your towing like your own you have a nice day and keep on them motor club scalls they need cheerleaders like your self to keep them in business :thumb:
