My father owns a AAA contract station in southern Ca. He has been in business for 24 years. In the past few years AAA has been trying to get him to quit, I believe the reason is so they can bring in a new station that is unfamiliar with AAA's ways of doing business and pay them much less. They have recently taken away our T3's (jump starts) because we refused to continue being a part of their BSP service, for one thing it was immoral to sell a battery to someone who didn't really need it for two to three times the amount of what it is worth. Which is basically all the BSP service does. So we got out of it and they immediately gave our jump starts to another station that appeared out of nowhere in our area. Since then our call volume has gone down by about 50%, they refuse to pay any miles too and have taken away second truck payments, second man payments and have implemented their new automated system, the IVR. The IVR in all reality is being brought in so they can fire all of their yankee's (dispatchers) that we deal with. They now pre calculate over miles and refuse to pay any different, even if there is valid reason for us having more miles than what they calculated. We have called around to other area companies and have found that many of them are now out of business thanks to AAA. There is seriously so much evil within AAA. But they are such a huge company with so many loop holes and so many contacts that the little guy just can't seem to win.
