I am a marketing student doing some research and I was hoping someone could help me out. I know that DATOW is being used by about 67% of the towing industry. If you are one of the companies that uses DATOW, I would like to know what are your likes/dislikes with the software if any? And if you are not a DATOW user, then what type of tow software do you use? What features do you like/dislike about that particular software? Any information you give me would be helpful for my project. I would also like to know what features you might like to see in tow software that your current one doesn't have? In addition, if you could just add a little blurb about where your company is located, that would be helpful for referencing statistics or info I find. You don't need to include your company name if you don't want to. Thank you, I appreciate all the help I can get.

I can't fathom that Datow is being used by 67% of the towing community. In fact, I can say with authority that's not the case in my state. Perhaps that 67% of the businesses that use towing software?
Anyhow, the most important feature for us in towing software is the ability to automatically fill out our state-specific forms. General fleet/call tracking and lot management is good to have, but the harder job for us is the paperwork we must send the state and the vehicle owner for each vehicle we impound.
Our biggest complaint with the software we've used in the past is the learning curve, and fact that we did not receive the program on disk. Therefore every time we updated our computers we had to pay for a service call. secondary to that would be the cost of training and support. We have no problem paying for updates, especially when the update is necessitated by a change in our states paperwork process.

According to what i have researched it mainly used by tow companies out of california,i down loaded a free demo and i've already unloaded it,intow manager software is much easier to use and learn to be able to dispatch trucks.
