Do any of the software packages have a palm pilot module?
I'm thinking of using a palm w/ GPS.
If I could interface a palm w/ one these applications to log calls, track mileage, inventory impounds. It would be pretty slick to manage truck maintenance and track costs etc. just by sync'ing up.

hiway, you should check out the software for nextel.it has the gps and also just about all the software you wanted
Hiway: Do you already have a Palm? Because if you have a Windows CE 3.0 or later (Pocket PC) device you can load Microsoft's Streets and Trips onto it, and it rocks! :drivin:

Not sure if any of the towing software packages offer a mobile module. Perhaps I could stir up someone who could answer your question....  :brow:

There are definitely some mobile components on several of the software packages but they are geared more toward drivers sending time stamps and pricing information from the field to the office.  I am not aware of any Palm OS based solutions on the market.

The Nextel option gets you all of the communication to several towing management systems but also allows for credit card processing in the truck, GPS and more.

Depending on the call volume, a simple spreadsheet could always be used and synced back to the office PC as well...

Hope this info helps.  If I can answer any other questions, feel free to contact me.

hmm..... yeah, I already have a palm. But want to invest in a system that will work well, be easy and fast to use and ultimately help me manage a succesful business.

I'm going to have to look at these nextel options, I was unaware of these except for the nav system.

Jimbray- I did some google searches but just got too many returns.
What nextel software are we talking about?
is it available from nextel?
or part of one of these software packages?
