just got a 2008 f450 with the chevron renegade auto grip(my second auto loader)
.i have put 2200 miles on it in the last 8 days and was wondering when it will go over 80 mph?it has the 6.4 dual turbo's
congraDs i just got the same truck but a crew cab lariat non comercial bed.
i work on hampton beach,nh
and see people like tricia yearwood, beachboys, george carlin, etc and most of my work is on the small streets of the beach so i like the small 450 with 88 inch wheelbase
80 MPH on small streets?
Are you hitting the rev limiter?
no,not 80mph on small streets.i can see the rpm's going up , but the truck does not go any faster than 80 mph.i have 3300 miles on it today
It might be a weight, air resistance, hp type of thing.
My F550 maxes out at 90mph and I'm not anywhere near the the redline. It will roll right up to 75, then it takes it a while to get to 80 and then to 90 seems forever. At 90 it seems to hit a wall, and will not go any faster....
Unless you somehow have the new EPA mandated speedlimiter. I know big truck are going to be maxed at 68 or 69 MPH in the near future, if they haven't been already.
ya it shuts down at 80mph its got to be a govenor or somthing becouse it still has plenty of pedal left in it, any tips on reprograming or removing a govenor would be nice
A new chip controller/programer should do it. Try Jegs or Summit Racing. Should have one that plugs right into the OBD-II connector.
