want to know what is the best chassis for med. duty wreckers. Iam looking at the V-30 or 3212. I keep hearing horror stories about INT. I have used them and liked them. I am currently using a Pete and its not bad. But I would like to know about freightliners due to the MB engine and steering box.
Let me know
When I was shopping for a medium duty (I bought INT) I passed on freightliner for two reasons. 1. I learned that there was 12 possible brake applications on the Freightliner, due to the them changing part manufacturers. 2. The repair and replacement cost of MB engine was much higher. (this was several years back)
Turns out, the cost of repairing the International was probably even higher.
I'm actually in the market again, so I'd love to hear what chassis you've decided to buy and why.
With my experience Freightliner breaks down alot. Their warranty sucks.
Check with the truckers everyone I know with fleets the freightliners are always in the shop. I currently have two stepvans at FEDEX . They have been ok. They have over 145000 miles.
