** INTERNATIONAL 4300 LEMON **
Before anyone considers buying an International chassis for their truck.... consider that I just paid $915 to repair a non-functioning left turn signal.
Of course, the truck is now out of warranty now, and the dealer swears that there is no connection to the time the left blinker would not go off. That repair was under warranty.
We have had nothing but trouble with this truck, and the electrical system is garbage.
** DON'T BUY INTERNATIONAL **
Bill, that is why we don't have a International in our little fleet any longer, and I thought it was just our overly crappie dealership/service manager.
And I am still happier that "a pig in shiesta" with my Sterling/Jerr-Dan combo with nary a problem-yet.
Winter months weren't real great with idle time up, but that 13+ mpg is coming back especially with fuel @ $3.09 @ gallon and climbing.
And looks good too! Doesn't have that ugly import squittinty look up front, yes I lost a little cab space (extra passenger) but oh, well I am always comfortable in my air ride seat and cab.
Sure wish I would of went with Stainless Simulators, cause them aluminum wheels are a B TCH to keep clean and shiny with that liquid snot they put down for deicer on our roads. But oh well keeps me busy when times are slow!

I'm in the market for a new medium duty. I'll have to give Sterling a close look. Thanks!
we have 3 international 4300's 2 have like you say a crap load electrical issues however we have one that is flawless. i cant explain because there are many company's with the same problems. i just got a 335 peterbuilt 24' bed 35000 gvw. i will never go back now.. i love that truck. i was overloading the hell out of every truck i used.. no i don't have to worry. please stay away from the freightliners our new one is in the shop now with a very long list of problems. it shifted first to second with no load and spit the converter out the bottom. less than 10k miles they are worse than the 4300's
by the way peterbuilt is offering the 335 in a med duty 26,000 gvw truck with a 20' bed. take a look at that while your shopping you wont be disappointed. i really love mine even though its considered a heavy duty carrier because the GVW is higher
here's a picture of my 335. he's a big boy

Wow, beautiful truck! I'll definitely check those out as well.
Supertow, That is one sweet truck! How much more is a big truck like that cost compared to the IHC or Frieghtliners? Is the 26,000 GVW model much cheaper? Where does one go to look at prices of new trucks? Did I say thats a sweet truck!

*drool*
BTW, many manufacturers offer their trucks tagged as 26K with no changes from their over 26K trucks. They are just tagged lower to sell to companies that want an under-CDL truck.
As soon as you get that CDL, there are logbook requirements and all the rules change
And you are still subject to the CDL rules when driving a personal vehicle. I'd get rid of mine but I NEVER want to take that test again! (if I need the CDL again).
Nice truck supertow!
definitely time for a new truck bill!
