Ok, One more.
Jerr dan steel couger or Vulcan 896/897.
I am leaning towards the Vulcan as I have used one and I like spoons
But which one would you choose and why... Thanks
Paul
I am partial to your Bed Titch

I prefer the VULCAN 896/897

try the chevron ramp.my f-450 boke down in portland me and AAA towed me back and it was scary getting my truck on the bed.we put it on to a chevron and had no problems
Jerr dann all the way!i had problems with vulcan once before!
Depending on the work you are doing,I would use either a Jerr-Dan or NRC steel recovery bed,I have had the best luck with them both, aluminum beds will tear or gouge fairly easy when you pull something on the bed without wheels or is heavily damaged.
With Millers dominance in the Industry I don`t think theres any real difference between Vulcan, Challenger, and the others. I don`t think the weight difference between Alum, Steel is big enough to put up with the Alums fraility.
I say Jerr-Dan, or Chevron.
Another thing about aluminum beds. They warp in the heat and humidity of summer.
How well do you like to weld aluminum, all the ones I have seen have stress cracks throughout with time.
Personally, I use steel only, because we have a wrecking yard and get all kinds of vehicles with no tires, wheels and sometimes no suspensions.
Have had 2 Jerr-Dan's a rustler and now a BIC will removable steel rails (the razor rails look cool but pull one up that does not want to cooperation and then bend too easily.
And I get better service attention with the Jerr-Dan, look in your area and talk to the people that will do any of the work on your deck with time and see who has a better service department and customer service. Very first tow with my BIC, the trunion hinge broke, not the fault from the factory but the dealer (they only spot welded to the frame and POP! But was taken care of in record time and done right.
Jerr-Dan is my 1st choice, and you can special order spoons for them, I have done recovery with mine with no problems at all. Just the chassis-has been my real problem-but with my new Sterling-NONE!

Jerr-dan, i like the 22 ft. steel, that way when you get a 4 door long box, you never have to be worried... Al is nice, but you cant drag a car up without scuffing it up.
