So get a call this am my buddy says, bring all your gear cause were going to need it, 6000lb truck with car trailor that had another 2-3k of engines & car parts on top, most of it loaded @ the rear of the trailor.
He was going slowly down a steep moss covered section of a logging road & the trailor started to push the truck (no trailor brakes), heres how it ended up

There was no other way to get any recovery equipment beyond him for an uphill pull so we rigged an extra 100' wire rope to a tree about 120' away from the truck off the passenger side rear parallel with the axle that would give us a point to hook a snatchblock, 1 wire rope from the wrecker went to that snatchblock then terminated @ the pass side rear wheel with a K strap through the wheel for an uphill sideways pull on the truck.
We have another 100' of extra wire rope that we hooked from the rear of the trailor up the road to the next nearest tree that was about 75' behind the trailor, that wire rope went through a snatchblock then headed back towards the wrecker where the 2nd wire rope of the wrecker was connected to give us a rearward pull on the trailor.

After rigging & taking the slack out of all the lines we found that the line off the passenger side of the truck was to far foreward so we hooked a floating snatchblock to the 100' wire rope off the truck then another to the rope @ the rear of the trailor & put a bout 10' of chain between them the bring the angles of the pulls more to our liking, over an hour of rigging & it was out in about 10 minutes, after the combo was back on the road I pulled the wrecker foreward & used the line @ the back of the trailor to lower him down the hill, 2 hrs from base to base.

One thing I regret not paying closer attention to was that he had no safety chains attatched from the trailor to the truck, didnt notice that until it was on the road again, should have seen that.
Bill, is there a way to make all the pics large like the first?
Very Nice. Well thought out recovery!
I especially like the final angle adjustment with the double snatch blocks.
If you reload the page you'll see that all pics start out small (they're supposed to), and are resized by clicking on them.
i like pictures like that, but no trailer brakes i bet the guy thinks about it now.
like oh s**t .if it would of been me you would of also had to bring me a change of clothes and a seat cover.
Hey auto tech
Its amazin what comes from our beedee lil minds, at times, good thinking-stuff like this is fun to me, always like a challenge as long as no one or anything gets hurt or damage much.
Great pictures too!
