It was a sunday morning call for aaa,the customer had been 4wheelin out past groom creek about 45 miles out from the community of groom.he was in an amc eagle wagon,well he was in prescott visiting and got stuck on an overhang by an old gold mine,any farther over him and his wife would have been gonners,the road to get there was so bad that my outside dual was hanging over the edge of the road.it took about an 21/2 hrs to arrive at the car i could only go about 15-25 mph all the way.now remember this was aaa member,a city slicker from los angeles when we finally got there to the car there was only enough room for me to position my truck about two feet in front of the wagon,well i hate it when the customer tries to help,he started the car and put it in drive and tried to pull forward,before i even hooked on the car,and as he did the vehicle went over the edge about another 10 feet,making it harder for me to be able to get the car out.i did everything except hit the man in the head with a j-hook.well i managed to hook onto the car after i ran my front winch line out about 20 yards to a very large pine tree in order to lock down also with my mico lock,then i ran my cable through a 6inch snatch block,and then hooked on to the car with a six foot chain connected to a j-hook up under the chassis of the wagon,while all this time the customer sat in the wagon,with the engine running thinking he was gonna help me,noway hoss get the hell out of the car is what i told him,because if the car were to move and go over the cliff i wasn't gonna be responcible for his stupidity.and attend his wake.after all this i got car back up on the tiny road,and i'll be son-of -gun the guy didn't back all the way up to a clearing and haul ass back towards town,and not signing the aaa ticket,me being in a hurry to catch this jerk i forgot my j-hooks at the cliff,well a park ranger saw me coming in a hurry and stopped me to find out what the heck i was doing out here on those mining roads.well i told him,and he also had seen my runaway customer heading in the direction of prescott.he radioed ahead to the s.o. and told them to stop and detain him.well he got by and arrived at his hotel down on the square,well i stopped my truck behind his little amc wagon.police in tow with me.by the time i added up all the charges it came out to be about $775.00+his aaa card for g.o.a..i contacted aaa and they told me that i was in the wrong until i told them what he had done,and they inturned canceled his card,and the girl with him wasn't his wife,she was his assistant who went back to l.a. via the bus.but there have been numerous times i have turned some calls into cash calls. 
Gotta love those AAA adventures..LOL!
