I had a friend in arizona that had his own truck,it was 77 chevy with a holmes 1200 and one day he got a call to tow a international cab over w/48 ft.trailer, well he had swelled head when it came to towing, there wasn't anything he couldn't tow.he rolled out to the call, and when he got there the driver of the truck laughed at him,and said noway in hell you're gonna tow this, well he argued with the driver, iwas already there to block traffic from behind with my rotators on.well he backed up to hook on to the semi,he even short chained it and then began to boom up,and this was mind boggling as he boomed up and exstended his ram out you could hear a groan, and there it went the front wheels came up and then the boom tweaked about 12 1/2 inches there wasn't a repair company around that would touch it,all they did was laugh at him and ask him if his elavator was over loaded,i have done some odd recoverys but i know my limitations on the wieght class of the truck.he now tows in alaska somewhere he still runs the same truck!but you can't be a wizard at everything, just know your limitations, don't have an ego brain to think you can tow anything, and everything.the math doesn't add up 1ton vs.80,000pds. Very true...but all to often, the costomer fails to give accurate information, resulting in the wrong class truck being sent out.

The guy i was talking about knew it was semi, but in his mind he could tow the brooklyn bridge if it had wheels, there wasn't anything he couldn't tow.the name of his company was happy hooker towing.he even had a hooker mural on his truck.strange character.but a very good friend.
