I'd like to hear from operators about what the difference between a winch-out and a Recovery is. What do you consider to be a Recovery? 
IMHO, winching would be a straight line pull, single line to the load, no scotch blocks, snatch blocks, etc...
Recovery would be rollover or winching requiring use of scotch blocks, snatch blocks, more than one line to the load, dead man anchoring etc...
I agree with auto tech, straight line pull is winching but if you have to start rigging then it becomes a recovery. Some also refer to repoes as recovery's. thats a whole different deal.
