Towguy 128: I completely agree, that's why our association crafted the "littering of a motor vehicle" laws that Washington now has in place. This legislation made it a crime, punishable by infraction, to abandon your car on the side of the road or in a towing lot. The laws helps a lot until the WSP said they didn't have the resources to enforce it. Clearly there wasn't enough fiscal benefit in it for them.
Bill why couldn't they put a retired volunteer citizen to be like an enforcement officer?it would save them money.and it wouldn't interfere with fiscal part of it.
That's a good idea! Even a paid civilian would be less expensive.
The Mt. association have helped with this some. We are faced with alot of soft, kind hearted, easygoing politicians that won't punish them for abandons, but in turn want tow companies to clean up city and county. Pretty sore subject around here for past few years and out of seven companies on rotation that meet once a month with law enforcement and 911 manager,we have tried to get the city to have their own yard. Maybe we are missing the big picture? The day I have to rely on storage for my bread and butter I'll sell the trucks and put up a mini-storage.
Hey there's money in mini-storage now days, but seriously this is a major problem in the towing industry.but one main thing is we haven't really figured out that we could recycle the overage of abandoned vehicles,by having them crushed and taken to factory for meltdown,or even sell to overseas countries with steel factory's.i'm sure they would buy all our excess salvage, wouldn't you agree with this?

I don't think recycling the cars is a good alternative, you already have more money invested than its worth. To crush cars you have to drain all fluids and then what, how much time and effort do you have in that car now?
Well its an idea,we used to do it out in chino valley,az. where we had a salvage yard.we had over 1500-2000 cars in inventory, while the crusher was going we were cutting up cars and loading them onto a trailor and taking them to pheonix,we got paid 45.00 a ton! back then that was good money.like i said it's an idea.
