I know there is a post about somebody wanting to start one. Well I allready pretty much dove head first into owning my own. I have owned my own trucks before but I had a used car lot and only did my own stuff with them and just did tows for my customers. Then I went to work for a towing company about 4 years ago and got plenty of exp in recovery work as we do all the city impounds and get the bottom of the barrel stuff. So now I bought my own truck yesterday. I have been planning this for a few months. I got the insurance and license stuff done. Got my buisness lic done also. Now just have to finish out my notice that I gave to my employer. Pretty stoked about it. Truck is paid in full so no payments. Insurance is paid for the year and plates are paid till Dec 31. As far a work I brought plenty of my customers with me and they still call me personally for the tows. I have been in the automotive buisness for about 18 years and I know plenty of buisness owners. I plan to advertise a bunch to get it going. Cant wait to get going on my own. The truck is a 2000 F350 super duty 7.3 powerstroke auto 4X4 4dr Fully loaded with leather and remote start. 18ft aluminum Jerr dan bed with wheel lift. 12,000 LB winch in the front bumper. Here are some pics of the new pimp ride.

Hey Cruz,
Nice looking rig. Best of luck on your venture. If I could offer any advice it would be to make sure your truck will scale. That f-350 Crew weighs in at about 6300lbs. and you look to have another 2000 lbs. in tow-bed and bumper. that only leaves 1700 lbs. for payload.
Nice truck.
Scalability in the truck is important. the newer f350's (I'd say about 92-93+) limit you on weights. I can say from experience (in NY) depending on the registration on the truck they allow you to increase the max load weight of the truck. As in NY state I have my truck with a max load weight of 16,000lbs and the truck weighs 8,920lbs with a full tank of fuel. But I also have 5-ton leafs with 2-ton overflow/helper leaves on the back so I have a max safe load of 6 tons on the back before the truck gets a little jumpy in the front. I have had that truck weighing in as 18,000lbs before IT WAS NOT FUN. I want to get a good Semi truck for the heavier loads I may haul.

As everyone else has said... The scales are going to be your downfall IF you are not careful. It is a beautiful truck and I hope you do well. Your particular truck is a great selling point for interstate use as you have the x-cab. Use that to your advantage!
